So here we are, the so-called ‘iPhone killer’. Obviously there’s a few remaining questions for Nokia and the ‘5800 tube’ to answer. Firstly, when will the damn thing be released, Q1 2009 or Q3/4 2008, furthermore I know from experience of the N95 that the battery is truly woeful, for this device to have better battery life would be no mean feat. Finally, and most crucially how big a hole will it burn into our shallow pockets. I’m sure the guys in Finland will fill us in shortly.

What they might not be able to explain is the success that will likely follow the release of the highly anticipated 3G iPhone device. Attempting to compete with such a beast of tech will be a definite slog and this may well effect the release date of the ‘tube’. Then again Nokia do have a supposed trump card. Reports of a N-series flagship S60 touch device may well mean that it’s the guys at Nokia that have the last laugh at Mr. Jobs’ expense. Keep it trendy.

Fairly good seven days of music, ‘weekly-highlight-award’ going to hot chip’s live rendition of wearing my rolex, tremendously clever stuff. I’m also loving the latest by two of the greatest, the mighty MSTRKRFT (I’m starting to miss you less DFA1979) and basement jaxx. Usher and and Adele bellowing to the filthiest tweets, drums and beats your ears can handle seriously floats the boat. And to think that the week could have been made that much better if N.E.R.D, another favourite of mine could have released a usual mind-blowing audio orgy of which they’ve become so accustomed to. They haven’t, and instead they’ve released a relatively dodgy single that has left me pretty undecided, for that reason I shall leave it to you to make your own mind up. keep it trendy.
